Boots

It's raining, and that means for a bus commuter, BOOTS!  They are a must for walking around in the rain here, and to brighten my day a little, I am rocking baby pink nails.

Spring/Summer 2013 Trends

10 Crosby Derek Lam
Viktor & Rolf
As the weather remains cold, I am left longing for bright sunshine and an update of pastels and floras to my wardrobe.  I am ready for Spring/Summer fashion, and the trends this season are keeping with the old with some fresh updates.  Stripes are always in, and the maxi trend is still going strong, however plenty of the maxis walking down the runways with slits up the sides for a new update to an old staple for summer time.

Jean Charles De Castelbajac
DKNY
Pencil skirts were big in the fall and carried over to the spring, showcasing more of the slit trend, and a new update with a sheer bottom to the skirt for an ultra feminine look.

Alexander McQueen
Charlotte Ronson
Bright colors still remain a big trend, especially in the form of a colored pant in a skinny or straight cut.
Isabel Marant

DL 1961
Another pant trend which started small in the fall is growing bigger now in spring/summer, is wide leg pants, and I couldn't be happier!

Christophe Lemaire
Stephen Burrows
There is even a cropped wide leg version trending, not sure how wearable this one is though, especially for those of a short stature.

Carven
Chloe
Also pants with tiny legs remain a big look, especially when worn in a menswear inspired way.

Pamella Roland
Mayla

Menswear is another trend from fall/winter and it was a major theme still going into spring/summer.

Diane Von Furstenberg
Emporio Armani
Color trends are black paired with either white or yellow for high contrast, and bright pink, cobalt blue and orange were strong across all the runways this season.

L'Wren Scott

Jayson Brundson
Leonard
Balmain
Aigner
Ermanno Scervino

Andrew Gn
Christian Dior

Kristina Ti
Marc by Marc Jacobs
Of course it couldn't be spring with out pastels!  This was a huge trend last season and is still big this year, so dust off your pieces from last year to rock for a wear now look.

Diane Von Furstenberg
Guldknappen
Emporio Armani
Maison Martin Margiela
From Fall into Spring I tend to change how I want to portray my image by going from preppy rock star, to full on ladylike femininity.  Seeing the runways helps enforce this trend of mine, and here are some of my favorite ladylike looks.

Behnaz Sarafpour
Chanel
To go with your ladylike look, bows were also a big trend this season.

Christopher Kane
Kate Spade
Some other pattern trends are checkers and plaid seen in many forms.

Allude
Louis Vuitton
Edith & Ella
L'Wren Scott
Leather looks are still carrying over from fall, and the peplum along with baring your midriff are still trending, however not as big of a statement as last season.

Aurelio Costarella
Norisol Ferrari
Valentino
Barbara Bui
What trends are you most excited about?

Stripes & Dim Sum

Wore this out on a lovely Saturday for Dim Sum at Ton Kiang, followed by a trip to the ferry building to pick up things from the farmers market for a picnic. I highly recommend this place for Dim Sum, especially if you are living in the Richmond district, although I have yet to try the infamous Hong Kong Lounge, I will get back to you once I do!
